I am the U.S. representative of the Montpellier Music Academy and Festival in Montpellier, France. The role of ESC in this realm is finding the best professors of violin, viola, and cello and bring in students to partake in the private studio instruction and classes, exposre and knowledge of the Festival to the United States for visitor participation.
Other frequented summer festivals include the Aspen Music Festival (video below right), Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival, Tanglewood, The Great Wall Academy in Bejing, China. ESC very often will setup a showroom of instruments where festival participants can come in and play, come in for repairs, and sometimes just visit with their colleagues in a relaxed and inspiring setting. It is another approach in the search for a major instrument purchase. |
